A day in training at HEW-KABEL
-
I'm Sarah and today I'm going to show you what my day in training at HEW-KABEL looks like. I started my apprenticeship here at the company about two months ago and am currently working in the commercial dispatch department.

A daily routine
I start my day at 7 a.m. by booting up the computer and opening all the programs I need for work today. The most important thing is that I always have the so-called scan folder open, because that's where I receive the open jobs that I can process during the day with the help of the system. I also make sure that I carry out the correct processes, which can vary depending on the order.
If I have any queries, I can always ask my colleagues, as some processes are very complex.
Incoming orders are only part of my job, as shipping documents such as shipping orders and loading lists also have to be scanned and filed. Once I've completed my tasks in the morning, it's time for a break.
My lunch break usually starts at 12 noon. Once a week, we even meet up with the other trainees for a joint lunch break - that's always a highlight!
We talk to each other about various topics.
We talk about our training, current projects or our free time.
In the afternoon, when I've finished all my work within the department, I often work on the "trainee projects", for which we are given project responsibility.
An integral part of these projects are various meetings, which take place regularly to discuss the next steps, exchange experiences and possible future improvements.
Once the projects have been completed, I make a list of tasks for the next day.
My working day ends at 3:30 pm.
